The journey and adventures of engagement.

About Me

What would you like to know?

Well – I was born Andrew Fraser Stewart the 6th in Chester England to a distinguished astrophysicist father and hyper-artistic, comical and social Glaswegian mother. I was raised in a small coastal town called Ayr  Scotland. I moved to Canada when I was 13 and grew up in a small town east of Ottawa called Navan while attending a technology and media arts high school. After participating in every high school club that would have me, I learned what an asset it was to be out going, social, and engaging. This lead me to pursue studies in media, public relations and mass communications.

I have a media studies certificate and a 3 year Diploma in PR from Humber College. After graduation I decided to complement that training with a theoretical degree in Mass Communications from Carleton University. During these scholarly years I participated in a number of interesting internships. Notably with a boutique PR agency in Toronto and another with, all while doing various free-lance, community PR and social media projects. After graduating in the Summer of 2009, I moved back to Toronto to further my pursuit of world domination and work for a brilliant company called Distility. After a year and a half of working at Distility, I was invited to join the amazing gang at Strategic Objectives to be their first in house Community Manager. At SO I learned the importance of traditional PR and how it should work with Social Media to create a fully integrated and well rounded brand story. In 2011 I joined the amazing team at Edelman Toronto. Edelman is the worlds largest privately owned public engagement agency in the world with a strong focus on Social Media. I work across the board on digital strategy but my primary accounts focus around consumer marketing.

At this point in my career, my focus is on social media, digital marketing, public relations, community development, Management and networking. My job allows me to keep on top of all the trending topics that are relevant to the industry. I have my fingers in many pies.

In my journey so far I have been: Head of social networks, chair and board member of  national charities (ScotiaBank AIDS Walk For Life), community activist / promoter, and not to mention social media manager / strategist for a variety of national brands.

So, this is why I have created this site – To utilize my experience, engage in conversation and create a place where you may view, read and see the world as I see it.

New friends are welcomed warmly!

Andrew F Stewart
